I love San Francisco!

Yes, this is an announcement: I love San Francisco.

My love affair probably started 20 years ago when I didn't quite know about the city and used to play Monkey Island, an adventure game that happens in the bays and waters of the Caribbeans, by Lucas Arts. I felt I was a pirate at heart: free-spirited, ambitious and adventurous. These all came together for me when I finally, after many difficult moves, moved to San Francisco.

I'd be able to explain this feeling in a 1000 words, but I have something better: a picture. That's my bike. Just take a minute, think about all the things you're striving for and get drowned in that picture. You might be able to sense what I mean.

There are many adventures waiting out there. I just know it!

Calling on Android entrepreneurs

Copied from my blog:

"I have partnered up with a friend from CMU. We are writing a brand new  location-aware social Android Mobile App with a comprehensive road-map to become a mobile shopping platform; and we are competing for VC attention.

We could use extra bandwidth on a volunteer basis from C# or Java developers, awesome graphics artists and mobile app monetization advocates. Contact me if you're interested. Release of the beta for the app is in the August 2010 time frame." - Amin

My humble value proposition

Years ago, this web site was my $12.00 advertisement investment towards finding a job. The adventures that followed were well worth it: recruiters who got in touch with me, technologies that I found out I needed to learn after graduation, gaining the initial experience, moving to the west coast and working for well known companies including Microsoft, et cetera.

My little investment now serves a slightly different purpose. I now define my adventure as the search for purpose and freedom within my field -- the colorful, passionate and human side of computer science. The part that is no longer working simply for a salary, but to make a positive change in the world and to create something about which to be personally enthusiastic. I'm here to share my new adventure, albeit slowly, and I'm open to hear your experiences; if you're a new graduate, I also offer to hear your story and trade some career insights.
